Prince George County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Docket Facilitator. This is a grant-funded position created to address needs related to protecting staff and visitors from the spread of COVID-19. The successful applicant will adapt our court procedures to ensure the proper administration of justice and timely resolution of criminal cases while protecting the health and safety of courthouse personnel and participants.
Job duties will include but are not limited to managing and segmenting the Circuit Court docket; developing processes to notify the public of the docket updates; coordinating with other courthouse agencies to ensure the courthouse does not become over-crowded; increasing usage of technology in the courtroom so that participants may appear via video whenever possible; developing and implementing plans for prosecuting attorneys to appear via video; developing and implementing processes for staging persons when over-crowding occurs; assisting with check-ins at the security desk; interacting with the public; assisting with jury trials; preparing grant reports.
College degree and/or prior legal experience preferred, especially if prior legal experience is in criminal law
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and security of records
Skilled in communicating clearly in oral and written form
Ability to use a personal computer, specifically Microsoft Office programs and case management databases
This is a part-time, grant-funded position ending on 09/30/2021. Applicant will be required to work 30-32 hours per week with partial benefits offered. Pre-employment physical/drug testing and criminal background check, to include fingerprinting is required.
