Director of Information Technology

Job Description:

OWASA is seeking an individual to lead our Information Technology (IT) department. The Director of IT oversees the information and operations technology (IT/OT), provides direction and leadership to five team members. This position develops strategy as it relates to infrastructure (computer and information systems, cybersecurity, communication systems, and supervisory control and data acquisition systems) and manages departmental annual budget. Position consults with stakeholders to identify business and technology needs to optimize the use of technology. The Director of IT serves as part of the senior-leadership team and reports to the Executive Director.

Candidates should have at least seven years’ experience modeling leadership behaviors and overseeing an information and operations technology program with a bachelor’s degree in relatable field of study.  Position requires a driver’s license issued by the State of North Carolina.

The ideal candidate should possess outstanding communication skills and have a demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and coach staff. Must be able to set clearly defined goals, evaluate progress, and change course as necessary to fulfill the mission and goals of the organization while ensuring that safe work practices are followed. Must be a trusted steward of the environment, our natural resources and the organization’s financial resources. Must be community minded, innovative in the approach to completing our mission. A service-oriented attitude, responsiveness, professionalism, and a passion to foster a diverse and inclusive work environment are necessary.

• Salary Range is $97,454 – $150,076
