Director of Human Resources
Isle of Wight County invites candidates for our Director of Human Resources position. The Director of Human Resources performs comprehensive and responsible leadership and management by directing and carrying out policies and procedures relating to all phases of County-Wide Human Resources and Risk Management programs and activities. Reports to the County Administrator.
Isle of Wight County in Coastal Virginia consists of over 300 square miles with two towns (Town of Smithfield and Town of Windsor) within its boundaries and a population of over 37,000 residents. Required Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in personnel management, business or public administration or closely related field, and a minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible related experience.
Requires a valid driver’s license. SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) or other professional human resources certification is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits Package: Salary will be dependent upon the qualifications of the selected candidate and is expected to be within the hiring range of $87,245 – $113,419. The County’s Total Compensation Package includes the Virginia Retirement System participation, paid vacation (accrual based on total years of service paid into a state and/or local government retirement plan) and sick leave, medical and dental insurance, deferred compensation programs, supplemental insurance programs, group life insurance, professional dues and continuing education expenses.
