Director of Finance
The Town of Farmville is seeking an experienced financial professional to serve as Director of Finance. The Director of Finance reports to the Town Manager and is responsible for managing all Town financial operations. Perform complex professional administrative work, planning, organizing, and directing all budgetary and financial activities of the Town. Position has responsibility for budgets, payroll, purchasing, bonds, reporting, budget grant administration, audit completion and compliance, revenue analysis, utility revenue and rate analysis, capital projects, debt management and administration investment management, purchasing, and accounting functions.
Requires Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field from an accredited college or university, a master’s degree is preferred. Extensive (5-10 years) public and/or private sector financial experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience. Successful candidates will possess a base knowledge of governmental accounting through direct operations and/or relevant work history.
