The Albemarle County Department of Community Development is actively recruiting a Deputy Certified Building Official to join our team. The successful Deputy Certified Building Official will perform complex professional and technical work leading, managing, overseeing and organizing the activities of the Building Division related to all Codes at the federal, state, and local level within Community Development (CDD). Serves as the Building Official in the absence of the same. Coordinates and collaborates with the Director, Deputy Director – Operations, Building Official and other divisions within CDD. Oversees and manages plans review and performance management functions within the Division. Solves problems in collaboration with customers such as builders and developers. Oversees Timekeeping and System Management withing the Division. Performs related work as requested or required.
