Job Description:
General Definition of Work
Performs intermediate manual work cleaning and maintaining County facilities, ordering supplies and
maintaining inventory, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the moderate
supervision of the Facilities & Maintenance Manager.

Essential Functions
Cleans floors, walls, lavatories, fixtures, toilets, etc.; refills bathroom supplies.
Sweeps, mops, vacuums, buffs, etc. assigned areas.
Removes trash from buildings and surrounding outside areas; transports trash and recyclables to the transfer
station.
Performs high and low dusting, window washing, and cleaning baseboards; sanitizes counter tops and door
handles; empties humidifiers.
Maintains supply inventory; communicates requests for supplies to supervisor.
Performs cleaning and sanitizing functions for holding cells in in the Sheriff’s Office and at the Courthouse.
Responds to accidents or potential safety hazards such as spills and restroom issues; coordinates clean up or
communicates repair needs.
Couriers mail between County offices and the post office.
Performs grounds maintenance and transfer station support on an assigned basis.
Performs cleaning for special events.

General knowledge of building cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment and ability to use them economically
and efficiently; ability to understand oral and written directions; ability to read and write; physical ability to
perform heavy manual work; ability to work independently; ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with associates.
