Crime Analyst
Job Description:

The Crime Analyst position analyzes crime patterns and trends to assist the Police Department management and operational personnel in planning the deployment of resources for the prevention and suppression of criminal activities, in a non-sworn capacity. Reports to the Chief of Police or a principal assistant. Primarily and most frequently the work done here is under general supervision, with related functional areas and more advanced applications.
The preferred hiring amount is between $19.42 to $26.35 an hour ($40,394.46 to $54,808 annually). Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position. Minimum Qualifications:
– Requires any combination of education or experience equivalent to an Associates degree.
– Qualified applicants will have the ability to research and analyze law enforcement data/information such as trend analysis, link analysis, and predictive analysis.
– Work various and extended hours as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
– Two (2) years experience with criminal justice or crime analysis preferred.
