Crew Supervisor – Athletic Fields Maintenance

Job Description:

Are you seeking a supervisory position that allows you to work outdoors while upkeeping the City’s various athletic fields to ensure their suitability for use and enjoyment by the public? If so, the Crew Supervisor – Athletic Fields Maintenance position may be the right career for you!

You’re the ideal candidate for this position if you are seeking a working-supervisor role and looking to lead employees who are responsible for a variety of athletic field preparation duties, including but not limited to dragging, lining, and painting athletic fields, general irrigation repair, irrigation scheduling, mound and home plate re-construction, and mowing field turf for athletic gameplay.

A detailed list of essential functions along with the ideal candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position is available in the Crew Supervisor – Athletic Fields Maintenance class specification on the City’s website.

Minimum Requirements:
– High school diploma or GED and considerable (3-5 years) experience in athletic field maintenance, field re-construction, or athletic turf work including some supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Supervisory experience is preferred.
– Valid driver’s license required.
– Virginia Pesticide Applicator’s License and Virginia Fertilizer Applicator’s License preferred but not required for consideration.
