Job Description:
The Town of Clifton Forge, Virginia is currently seeking a motivated, and experienced individual for a Director of Community Development/Code Inspector.
The person will plan, organize, and direct, activities of development within the town in accordance with town policies and budget. Inspects existing structures for proper maintenance, zoning compliance, enforcements of inoperable motor vehicles, weeds and trash ordinances and violations.
Must possess a high school diploma and a bachelor’s degree in urban planning or related field preferred. Minimum of five years directly related experience in planning, zoning, community development, building construction and appraisal of properties. Prior experience in municipal government is preferred. Must obtain Virginia Certification as a Building Maintenance inspector within twelve months of employment. Full-time position with excellent benefits.
