The Communications Specialist is responsible for producing City productions for Government and Public Access Channels and websites and content management of department, channel, and City-wide web pages. Primarily and most frequently the work done here is performed independently, under general supervision. Reports to the Deputy Director of Communications. Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position. – Minimum of two-year college or vocational course work with major course work in multimedia communications, journalism, or a related field. (One year of work experience may substitute for one year of the required education up to a maximum of two years substitution.)
– Minimum of two (2) years of experience producing television or online content in a studio or field production environment required.
– Must have some prior hands-on experience in producing live, multi-camera video productions, including knowledge of digital video switchers, character generators, audio mixers and digital recorders.
– Television production background or experience working in a political or government media production capacity or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities preferred.
