Job Description:
City of Lynchburg, Public Works Department is seeking a qualified Transportation Engineer who is interested in the challenge of overseeing the planning, maintenance, and design of the City of Lynchburg’s transportation network.

Qualified individuals starting pay is $90,000. – $100,000./annually depending on qualifications and experience. This position offers a $2500. sign in bonus at the time of hire and $2500. after completion of one initial employment period with specific terms.
Responsibilities include managing, planning, directing and coordinating the work of the Traffic Engineering Section, overseeing the maintenance, replacement and new installation of traffic control devices and management of capital projects. Qualified applicant must have BS degree with major work in civil engineering and extensive experience in professional traffic engineering work and supervisory experience. Possession of a Professional Engineering license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia is preferred. Successful applicant must also have excellent project management, communication and conflict resolution skills.
