City Manager

Job Description:

The growing community of Oxford, NC seeks an experienced, visionary, diplomatic and collaborative leader to serve as its next City Manager. The desired candidate will bring experience and expertise in continuing and completing the development of long-range planning initiatives that support growth and guide infrastructure initiatives that align with the objectives of the community. The new City Manager will be joining the City of Oxford at a critical and transformational period in its history as the City is experiencing significant growth and development. The City Manager will strategically lead the City through multiple municipal capital improvement initiatives and numerous major subdivisions. The City Manager reports to the Mayor and seven member non-partisan Board of Commissioners. The CM leads 100 FT employees across 10 Departments. The FY 22-23 Adopted Budget of $ 41.9M is supported by a tax rate of $ .64. A Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration or closely related field is required. A Master’s Degree in Public of Business Administration and ICMA Credentialed Manager status is preferred. Candidate must have 7-10 years of successful and progressive management experience preferably in local government. Starting salary will be based on experience and qualifications. The City of Oxford offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401k contribution and contributes to the NC State Retirement System.
