ASSISTANT INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIRECTOR
The Town of Culpeper’s Information Technology Department is seeking qualified applicants for an Assistant Information Technology Director.
Primary functions include: assist with planning, directing, administering, and participating in program development, analysis, and operation; assist with long and short term planning; assist in formulating and implementing policies, programs, procedures and standards for departmental activities; exercise independent judgement to analyze, develop, and recommend plans and solutions to operational, management, business processes, or telecommunications operations service; identify opportunities to develop and market systems that will enhance operational efficiencies; supervise, direct, and evaluate department staff; and perform related tasks as required.
Skills & Qualifications: Candidate must have thorough knowledge of all phases of systems analysis, programming, and computer operations in an on-line and batch processing environment; ability to determine departmental and system-wide needs of an information system and formulate effective programs to meet these needs; ability to write clear and concise reports; ability to plan and supervise the work of professional and technical personnel; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, department heads, associates, and vendors.
Education & Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in computer science or a related field and considerable experience in information systems management, including some supervisory experience.
