Assistant Finance Director
Montgomery County has an opening for Assistant Finance Director. Qualified candidates will possess extensive knowledge of governmental finance operations including audits, central accounting operations, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, general ledger maintenance, account reconciliation, grant management and reporting, journal entries and financial analysis. In addition to financial services for the County, the department provides financial services and acts as fiscal agent to six other affiliate organizations and is responsible for annual financial statements, County audit, Schools and all other fiscal agent accounts. Reporting to the Finance Director, essential duties include but are not limited to: supervise accounts payable, payroll, Public Service Authority billing and collections, oversee technical financial operations of the department, prepare financial statements and reports for the County and affiliate organizations, coordinate annual audit for the County and affiliate organizations, plan and implement projects, develop and maintain policy and procedures manual, and similar duties of equivalent responsibility.
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or directly related field, minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible experience at a managerial level in municipal finance/financial management, and Certified Public Accountant certification required. Successful candidate must have demonstrated ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with officials, peers/associates, and related agencies.
