ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY- SYSTEMS SECURITY
GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK:
This is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act. The Assistant Director of Information Technology – Systems Security is responsible for planning, designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining the division’s information and network security programs, policies, and procedures and disaster preparedness. Additional responsibilities include regulating access to computer data files and prevent unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure of information. Other responsibilities include monitoring the division’s computer networks for security issues, installing security software, investigating and documenting any security issues, and developing remediation plans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL TASKS:
Provide leadership, direction and guidance in assessing and evaluating information and system security risks and monitor compliance with security standards and appropriate policies;
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in information systems preferred.
Minimum of 4 current years’ full-time experience in a broad range information security role or related field.
Minimum of 4 current years’ experience preferred in application security vulnerability management, tools and processes used in application vulnerability testing, and in security threats, solutions, security tools and network technologies along with keen ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues
Experience in process and policy development
Experience with current web-server and web-application security and maintenance.
Experience using forensic tools and performing forensic collections.
CISSP, SANS, CISM or equivalent industry-related security certifications highly desired.
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) highly desired.
Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia;
