Nestled mid-distance between Richmond and Charlottesville, Louisa County is seeking an Assistant County Attorney.
The Assistant County Attorney performs complex professional work under the general supervision of the County Attorney. The Louisa County Attorney’s Office provides legal representation and services to the County, its Board of Supervisors, County Administration, departments, and various authorities and commissions. The office also provides limited legal services and support to the County’ elected Constitutional Officers.
The Assistant County Attorney is expected to assist the County Attorney in serving all internal clients and perform all work as assigned or as required by the job to provide superior delivery of services, but will have as his or her primary assignments the representation and legal support of the Louisa County Department of Human Services and Code Enforcement.
Must be eligible to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia at the time of application and be able to demonstrate a broad range of knowledge of Virginia law. Minimum three years of local government work is preferred. Salary range for this position is $65,000 – 85,000, DOE.
