The purpose of this class is to assist the City Attorney in performing a wide range of professional legal services to all City departments, various boards and commissions, and the City Council. The class works under administrative supervision of the City Attorney or a Deputy or Sr. Deputy, if assigned by the City Attorney. This position requires strong litigation skills, the ability to work independently, or with limited supervision, and excellent organizational and communication skills
Requires a Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and a minimum of two (2) years of legal experience as a practicing attorney. Must be an active member in good standing in the Virginia State Bar. Must be licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Must be an active member in good standing in the Virginia State Bar.
