Aquatics Manager (Management Specialist II)

This position is responsible for the direct management of all Aquatic Facility Operations, Programs, and Maintenance to include two (2) outdoor swimming pools, two (2) indoor facilities and (4) spray grounds. Work is performed independently, managing core Division business functions, support systems and operational capabilities, using strategic management techniques. Responsible for the supervision of seven (7) full-time staff and approximately 120 temporary staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Reports to a Deputy Director or Director of Parks & Recreation, dependent upon assignment.
Hiring salary will be between $69,992 and $88,046.40 annually. Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. This is a full-time, exempt, position. – Five years of progressively responsible experience in park/recreation-related work, including responsible administrative/managerial experience, preferably in the aquatics field;
– Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in recreation and park management or other pertinent related field. (One year of relevant work experience may be substituted for each year of the required higher education);
– Certified Pool Operator or must have within six (6) months of hire;
– Requires a valid Virginia driver’s license by start date of employment.
