Essential Job Functions
The Airport Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the overall maintenance of the airport, and supervising and participating in skilled work involved in the maintenance and repair of airport buildings, facilities, equipment and grounds; ensuring the safety of airport personnel, contract workers and the general public.
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned airport maintenance staff: Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; schedules work to maintain adequate coverage; reviews and approves timesheets; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriates; trains staff in operations, policies, procedures; ensures that crews have the proper resources needed to complete assigned work; monitors status of work; assists with complex/problem situations and provides technical expertise; and provides progress and activity reports to management.
Supervises building maintenance program: Develops and oversees preventative maintenance schedules for air conditioning units, elevators, plumbing, electrical, and fire alarm systems; and maintains airport control tower. Oversees the ground maintenance activity for the airport. Oversees equipment and vehicle maintenance; coordinates with the City’s Maintenance shop.
Minimum Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by five years’ experience in general equipment and building maintenance and repairs, including maintenance supervisory experience. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
