We are seeking a strong leader who possesses skills in construction and maintenance. The successful individual will be a proactive, organized, detail-oriented, approachable, and safety-conscious professional, who has the ability to work positively with employees, patrons, and vendors. This exciting position will require the incumbent to manager projects and programs, preventative maintenance, budgets, inventory, and personnel.
Essential Job Functions
Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned airport maintenance staff: Organizes, prioritizes, and assigns work; schedules work to maintain adequate coverage; reviews and approves timesheets; approves/processes employee concerns and problems and counsels or disciplines as appropriates; interviews potential candidates and makes hiring recommendations; completes employee performance appraisals; trains staff in operations, policies, procedures; ensures that crews have the proper resources needed to complete assigned work; monitors status of work in progress and inspects completed work; assists with complex/problem situations and provides technical expertise; and provides progress and activity reports to management.
Troubleshoots, repairs, installs, and maintains airport navigational systems, airfield lighting systems, airport mechanical systems, control devices, heating ventilation and air conditioning systems, and other electrical equipment throughout the airport.
Conducts maintenance inspections of airfield runways, taxiways, lighting, and terminal building: Ensures the maintenance and repair of runways, taxiways, aprons and run up aprons, and surrounding areas; keeps airport lighting and landing aids in top condition. Maintains maintenance inspection logs for a variety of airfield systems for inspection by FAA and Virginia Department of Aviation as necessary.

Minimum Required Qualifications
High school diploma
Five years’ experience in general equipment and building maintenance and repairs, including maintenance supervisory experience
Possess and maintain valid Virginia driver’s license.
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
