State tax collections outpace local numbers

Total state revenues continue to perform better than forecast, according to a report on March revenue collections released by Secretary of Finance Ric Brown recently. Total general fund revenues rose 12.4 percent in March. On a year-to-date basis, total revenues have increased by 4.9 percent, almost 1 percent higher than the official forecast of 4 percent growth. Register for VML-VACo bay cleanup seminar

VML and VACo are sponsoring a seminar May 26 in Hanover County on the looming cost of the federally-mandated plan to clean up the Chesapeake Bay.  The $10 registration fee includes the cost of lunch.  Registration form and agenda.
